Here you will find the answers to the most important questions:
Bioactive Peptides are small components of amino acids derived from native collagen. Earlier studies have shown that specific peptides can be absorbed through the intestinal wall in intact form.
These peptides are called bioactive because they arrive at the desired destination and, at the same time, support the body’s own functions, i.e., are biologically active.
The highly controlled manufacturing process determines the quality and the biological value of the Bioactive Peptides in Collagile® pet. Compared to conventional hydrolysates, the peptides in Collagile® pet are optimized to maximize the answer to the cells involved in the collagen metabolism such as the chondrocytes (cartilage cells).
In the following illustration you can see how Bioactive Peptides are generated:
- On the left side you can see the triple-helical structure
- In the middle you can see the opened structure influenced by thermal processes
- On the right side you can see the final product, our Bioactive Peptides

Collagen is one of the primary structural proteins of connective tissue, and, as such, a vital component of your pet`s body. During aging and intense activity, the collagen structures are weakened and slowly degrade. With Collagile® pet you can counteract this based on two mechanisms:
- Supply of typical collagen amino acids as valuable building blocks
- Improvement of collagen metabolism
Collagile® pet is suitable to support the mobility of elderly and active pets.
Collagile® pet provides your pet with nutrients for the musculoskeletal system and thus should be administered regularly on a long-term basis. No harmful side effects during a long-term administration are known. In case of doubts, please consult your veterinarian.
Collagile® pet is a product that naturally supports the body’s own mechanisms. It helps to normalize processes in the connective tissue. Positive effects may be noticeable within a week or after several months. It is important to administer Collagile® pet long-term on a regular basis.
Collagile® pet is provided as a powder. Each canister exclusively contains pure Bioactive Peptides and no additives.
The powder is neutral in taste and odor and can be mixed with canned food. In case you would like to add it to dry food we recommend moistening the dry food with water and then adding Collagile® pet. You can also prepare it like a roux by dissolving in a little water and pouring over food.
You may also dissolve Collagile® pet in yogurt or cottage cheese, before mixing it with the dry food.
Other ways of feeding Collagile® pet to your pet are not recommended.
In order to avoid any decomposition of the powder, mix Collagile® pet with wet feed such as mineral feeds, oats, mash, or cereals.
Yes, there are no interactions between Collagile® pet and other pet supplements known.
Yes, our Bioactive Peptides are not harmful to pregnant or breast-feeding pets or their pups, and thus may be fed in such cases.
If your pet has been diagnosed with a disease such as renal insufficiency, or any intestinal, liver or thyroid disease, a veterinarian should be consulted prior to the administration of Collagile® pet. In general, Bioactive Peptides are safe to use, however we recommend consulting your veterinarian first in case your pet suffers from any disease.
Yes, Collagile® pet is neutral in taste. Please observe the feeding instructions.
Collagile® pet shall be stored in a cool and dry place. You should not store Collagile® pet in the refrigerator, but a cool place like your bed room might be suitable. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and moisture.
A distinction is made between the shelf life and the use-by date. The shelf life is usually significantly higher and refers to the unopened product. Once the product has been opened, the use-by period begins which is usually significantly lower than the shelf life.
Once the canister of Collagile® pet is opened, the contents should be used within 6 months.
When kept under the recommended storage conditions, products do not automatically become useless, however, their quality, efficacy and safety after the expiry date can only be proven by appropriate tests; otherwise legal liability problems may arise. The manufacturer’s liability ends in any case on the day of the stated use-by period.
Compounds can be degraded by bacterial contamination, oxidation, hydrolysis and racemization. Storage-related problems may occur due to temperature and humidity loads, light, and oxygen.
Our Bioactive Peptides do not fall under the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) https://www.wada-ama.org/ list of prohibited substances.
The raw material for our Bioactive Peptides is pig skin. We are not aware of any allergic reactions connected with the administration of Collagile® pet in pets suffering from a pig meat allergy. Bioactive Peptides do not consist of meat or fat, only small molecular weight amino acid sequences and pure protein which, in general, do not cause allergic reactions.
Collagile® pet is free from sugar and thus also suitable for diabetics.
In general, there are no known side effects caused by the administration of Collagile® pet.
In rare cases, especially in connection with the initial 10-day higher dosage and when fed with dry food, it may cause light gastrointestinal disturbances.
In order to avoid any gastrointestinal disturbances and for more sensitive animals, you may split the daily dose into two meals.
Please observe the feeding instructions.

Yes, as the powder is very neutral in taste and odor it is well accepted by horses.
During the filling process, the powder swells and fills the canister up to 85%. During transportation and storage, the volume of the powder collapses and gradually compresses to a lower fill level. Due to the initial swelling of the powder it is necessary to keep the current canister size.
One way to measure the net content is to weigh the powder without the packaging. Another way is to measure the full canister on a calibrated scale. As an empty canister weighs 2.5oz/71g the scale should show 13.1oz/371g.
